A. Yes. 100 percent of the CE requirements may be completed by qualifying self-study programs.

Q. What is On Demand self-study?
A. On Demand is a prerecorded webcast that can be viewed at your convenience. Start and stop the video at any time and pick up where you left off. Once you view the complete recording, take an exam online. Upon passing the exam, your certificate of completion is accessible online for download.

Q. What is PDF self-study?
A. Course materials are offered in PDF format. Once you read the materials, take the exam online. Upon passing the exam, your certificate of completion is accessible online for download.

Q. Does On Demand come with written materials for reference?
A. Yes, course materials are provided for reference while watching the On Demand recording. Course materials for the on demand programs can be downloaded from the webcast recording.

Q. Can I view the recording at any time?
A. Yes. You can view the webcast anytime.  You may start/stop the playback and continue where you left off. You will have access to the recording for one year from date of purchase.

Q. How do I use online grading?
A. All tests are open-book. You have three opportunities to take the exam within one year from date of purchase. After submitting your answers, you will receive your score immediately. If you have passed the test, print your certificate of completion.

Q. How do I locate self-study courses to purchase?
A. Go to www.calcpa.org and use the filters provided on the left. Choose “Self-Study” as the Event Format. If you are interested in seeing only the On-demand or PDF options available, choose those in the “Format” filter to narrow your search.

Q. How can I locate my On Demand after I purchase it?
A. Go to My Activities (you will be required to login). Once there, go to "My Activities" and under "Events" click on "Self Study". A new online page will appear. Click on the title and you will have the option to “View Now.”

Q. Where do I access my exam and PDF materials?
A. Go to My Activities. Materials and exam buttons are located on the "Self Study" page.

Q. Do I need to complete the exam once I start? Is the test timed?
A. Your exam auto-saves each time you select an answer to a question. It is not timed so you can logout and resume your exam when you are ready.

Q. How long do I have to take the exam once I purchase it?
A. You have one year from the date of purchase to take and pass your self-study exam.

Q. What is a passing score on my exam?
A. Typical passing scores are 70%; Regulatory Review exams require 90%.

Q. Once I pass the exam, where do I access my Certificate of Completion?
A. It can take up to 4 hours for your passing score to flow to the database, once it’s ready you can download your certificate from My Activities next to the course title you will see “Certificate” Tools. You can also access your Certificate from CPE Tracker. Enter a date range for the day you passed the exam and your certificate will appear as “Print.”
